Being your representative so far has been joyful, satisfying, hard work. I am so proud to have been a part of increasing funding for our schools through HB57, and a part of the veto override to keep it. We’ve also been able to move a pension bill out of the House, and the Senate companion to my Payday Loans Bill passed as well.
Other bills I’ve sponsored, including the Financial Literacy bill, HB90, the CPR Curriculum bill, HB92, the Unemployment Insurance bill, HB192, and HJR24, advocating for Public Broadcasting, are all in committees and can be continued next session.
The issues we work through in the legislature are far from simple and require a lot of study and consideration. Besides the parties interested in this or that item we consider, I have particularly been attentive to everyone from District 22 who has taken the time to contact me. Your voice matters to me!
While the work in Juneau has been challenging, what buoys my spirits is thinking of the people of House District 22 and that I am fighting for them.
Despite the many challenges in Juneau, it is and has been my honor to serve you. Please don’t hesitate to be in touch!
