Priorities

As a representative, Ted will fight for the needs of District 22 including high-quality education, public safety, and improved infrastructure.

Increase funding for education

As a longtime teacher, Ted knows the importance of ensuring schools are properly funded. Ted believes in the potential of our kids, and if elected will seek to provide sustainable, high-quality public education for all Alaskan students. To attract and retain the best teachers, Ted supports unions and a defined benefit pension program for state employees.

Protect women’s right to choose

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Ted will fight for Alaskan women’s access to safe, affordable healthcare. Ted believes that all people should have the freedom and privacy to make choices about their bodies and health.

Keep our community safe & secure

Ted has heard your concerns, and if elected he will make it a goal to improve funding for public safety in Northeast Anchorage. Ted will fight for increased funding to treat mental health and substance abuse to get people off of the streets and into affordable housing.

Ensure a PFD that works for Alaskans

Ted believes that the people of Alaska deserve a robust PFD. Ted will work to ensure a fair PFD, as well as making sure Alaskans get their fair share from oil revenues.

Invest in new infrastructure & create jobs

Ted wants to see greater investment in Northeast Anchorage, including improvements to aging roads, local energy supplies, and high-speed internet. To deal with the impending natural gas crisis in South Central Alaska, Ted will seek to improve energy infrastructure, diversify energy sources, and fight for reliable and affordable energy for our community. Ted also believes in investing in the Port for Alaska, and will look for ways to support small businesses and promote job growth in the district.
